The Corn Maze Revealed: “Hey Elon!”

This year’s corn maze is pulled right from the local headlines. We’re welcoming our new neighbor Elon Musk and his innovative companies to Bastrop, farm-style. When you solve the maze, you’ll be wandering through a SpaceX shuttle, a Tesla Cybertruck, and one of The Boring Company’s underground tunnels. Since The Boring Company has just purchased land half a mile from Barton Hill Farms, we figured it was only neighborly to give them a hearty welcome.

With such a rainy spring and summer in 2021, we’re looking at the best corn crop we’ve ever had! Of course, that means that the corn will be thicker and denser than ever. To give you a hand in solving it, there will be QR codes scattered through the corn. Scan them with your phone to answer a question and get a hint on where to go next.

Greenery and Growing Things

Our Austin pumpkin patch on the Colorado River will be chock-full of magnificent pumpkins from Michigan and the Texas Panhandle. It’s the perfect place to take fall photos with the family. Get dolled up in your favorite fall fashions and take those Instagram-worthy shots! We’ve also seeded our fields with sunflowers and zinnias. We expect the flowers to be in bloom during the festival, which will add some cheery color to the scene. Cut a dozen stems to bring home or give them to someone special.

We’ve also planted hundreds of trees and shrubs on the farm this year. And we have hop vines climbing their supports near the biergarten, creating a wall of fragrant green. The more growing things, the better!

Fresh Air and Good Times

The safest place to be is still outside. With over 100 acres of farmland, Barton Hill Farms has all the space you and your family could need. And with dozens of activities, this is a boredom-free zone.

Let kids climb, swing, and slide to their heart’s content at the Wilbarger Texas-sized Tree Fort. Ride the Bee Train and the Texas Hayride Trail to see some of the farm animals. Bounce on the Jumbo Jumping Pillow, and try your hand at archery. In the Texas Pasture, get close to llamas, pigs, goats, chickens, and more.

Adults can enjoy a local beer or cider, along with live music, in the Barton Hugel Apfelwein & Biergarten. Plus there’s face painting, catch-and-release fishing, apple cannons, and more. It’s a screen-free day of fun out in the open air.

There will be live entertainment, too! Pistol Packin’ Paula will be here select days to wow us all with her gun twirling and trick shooting. More entertainers will be announced as we get closer to the festival.

To secure your own personal space, reserve a semi-private cabana for you and your crew. These half-day rentals give you a shady place to gather for a meal or a celebration. There’s even a firepit in each cabana for s’mores!

Join Us for Our 10th Fall Festival!

2021 marks our 10th Austin pumpkin patch. We’ve seen your kids grow up alongside our own. We’re so grateful to those of you who have made a day on the farm a fall tradition with your family!

While this year continues to present some challenges, we look forward to providing a place where you and your family can escape the city. Have some good old fashioned fun among the cottonwood trees, animals, and sunshine of Barton Hill Farms.
