Looking Back at the 10th Annual Fall Festival

The 10th Annual Fall Festival, Pumpkin Patch, & Corn Maze has come and gone here at Barton Hill Farms. And while we’re sad that it’s over, we are SO GRATEFUL to everyone that came out to enjoy this fantastic fall and the beauty of Bastrop!

While this year came with some unique challenges due to the ongoing pandemic, it felt like things were mostly back to normal out here in the country. And we were lucky to have some fantastic entertainment this year, like the Mad Science demonstration, gun spinning from Pistol Packin’ Paula, an RC air show by the Tri City Flyers, the Mobile Cow Classroom, and a wildlife exhibit by Sky Kings Falconry. We’ve never had such an exciting and diverse group of performers and educators!

But the best thing about fall on the farm is watching you enjoy it. So we’ve gathered a few of our favorite photos from your visits to the 2021 fall festival. There were lots of laughs, and even a few tears (from happiness!).

Wave Goodbye to the Hey Elon! Corn Maze

This year’s 5-acre Hey Elon! corn maze was a big hit. We loved to see you all take selfies with Elon before you dove in to solve it! Unfortunately, Mr. Musk himself was unable to make it. But he assured us that he’ll try to visit next year after Tesla’s relocation is complete. 😉

Our wet spring and early summer got the corn off to a strong start. So it was towering over people as they made their way through the twists and turns.

The Prettiest Pumpkin Patch in Texas

It’s pretty on its own, but you all make it look so much nicer. We love how everyone brings their own unique brand of fun to their pumpkin patch pictures.

We’ve got happy families, model vibes, friends just goofing around, and anything else you can think of.

Outdoor Play Leads to Big Smiles

Picking a pumpkin and solving the corn maze were only a fraction of the activities at the Fall Festival. Each year, we have over 30 games and activities, and we’re always adding to our offerings.

Big kids and little kids all enjoy the Bee Train (although this little kid might enjoy it a little more when she’s a bit older.)

The Texas Jumbo Jumping Pillows are where a lot of our visitors burn off any extra steam before they get back in the car to head home.

And there were forts to climb, slides to ride, apple cannons to shoot, and a ton of other fun things to do.

(Don’t worry, he didn’t get stuck in there. We checked.)

Colorful Flowers for Gorgeous Photos

This fall, we had more than just pumpkins to take home. We planted field after field with bright sunflowers and vibrant zinnias. Set just behind the pumpkin patch, the U-Pick fields added a splash of color to the oranges, browns, and greens of the farm.

Our Four-Legged Friends (And the Chickens) Got the Spotlight

The animals on our farm have jobs to do, but they still like a bit of attention now and then. Our goats, pigs, miniature horses, chickens, and cattle made their way into plenty of your fall photos. As usual, the llamas were the fan favorites.

Life’s Special Moments at Barton Hill Farms

We get such a thrill when our visitors celebrate their milestones at the farm. We’ve had so many mamas-to-be make memories of this special season among the corn and the pumpkins. This one added her little pumpkin to the pumpkin patch.

And these two besties took the opportunity to commemorate their friendship and their upcoming deliveries with an adorable photoshoot.

We even had two proposals on the farm this year (that we know of!). Fortunately, they were both accepted. Now, whenever these happy couples think back to the season of their engagement, they’ll think about a perfect Austin day on the farm.

See You in the Spring!

Thank you again to everyone who came to spend the day with your family on the farm. After ten years, we’ve seen your children grow up alongside ours. We are so grateful to be able to share this beautiful place with you!
