Looking Back at the 2020 Festival

What a season!

Looking back at our fall festival, it’s hard to remember that for a while, we weren’t sure if it would even happen. But with a few tweaks and changes, we were still able to provide a place for our friends and neighbors to get outside and have some fun during this unusual year.

One of our favorite parts of each festival is looking back at all the pictures and videos shared online by our visitors. This year, we’ve pulled together some of our favorites for a pictorial review. Scroll through to see some highlights of the season, and start getting ideas for your own fall photoshoot in 2021!

Games & Events

The animals on the farm are always a hit. They love getting visitors, especially when it means scritches and pettings.

Face painting artist Heather Joy brought us spiders, unicorns, dinosaurs, kitties, and lots of mermaids! We were delighted to have Lollipop Art coordinate our face painters and caricatures!

Visitors tried their hands at some new activities, like shooting a bow and arrow and firing an apple cannon.

We were very impressed with Miss Bobbi’s lassoing skills, especially in a skirt and high heels!

And we loved this sweet video, documenting one family’s entire day. Watch their little girl explore the farm and take in the sites.

Visiting the Biergarten

The grown ups enjoyed the local beer and cider at our new Biergarten. Next year, there will be more greenery for a shady oasis on the farm.

Pumpkin Patch

We know we have the prettiest pumpkin patch in Texas. But then you all come in with your sweet families and just make it that much prettier!

These little girls with their coordinated outfits and sunnies are so precious.

And these kiddos are proof that it’s impossible to get four small children to smile at once. You just have to work with what they give you! These cuties were a little distracted, but they were all smiles later.

Scooby-Doo Corn Maze

The Scooby-Doo theme was a hit this year! It was fun to include some fun facts about this show that’s been delighting kids for over 50 years.

We also love this series of photos from Grecia. She’s been coming to the farm for the past four years, and shared a picture in our corn maze from 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020!

We’re already brainstorming ideas for next year’s corn maze. Got any ideas? Share them with us over on Facebook

Pumpkin Smash

Over the last two weekends of the festival, we let visitors partake in our annual pumpkin smash. With a baseball bat and a little elbow grease, they can go to town on these leftover gourds! After they’re smashed, we add the pumpkins to the pig feed for a tasty treat.

Another Year Over…

Another festival has come and gone, and things are winding down at the farm. We’ll still be here, winterizing the games and taking care of our animals. And we’ll be coming up with ways to make 2021 better than ever, with new attractions and events. We’re looking forward to seeing you all on the farm in the spring!
