Quick Answers
Our public events include the Berries & Bunnies Festival in March and April, Blooms & Brews Festival in May, our Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch from late September to November, and our new Christmas event during the holiday season. Please check our event pages for exact dates.
We host Field Trip days where elementary school children can learn about pollinators, what makes crops grow, and life on the farm. We hope to foster an interest in science and agriculture through a day of hands-on learning and outdoor fun.
We also host corporate and private events. Check our Corporate Retreats page for more information.
We allow trained service animals only. We are animal lovers ourselves. However, as all good farmers know, not all children play well with dogs, and not all dogs play well with children. In compliance with ADA policies, we do reserve the right to ask the owner of a service animal to remove the animal if: 1) it is out of control or barking at other guests, and 2) if it is not "housebroken." Animals may NOT be left inside owner's vehicles or tied up outside our gates. Our staff is not required nor expected to provide care, food, nor water to any service animal. Relevant service animal information, including physical address, contact information, and breed of animal will be logged at the gates.
To ensure a wonderful experience for all of our guests, tickets must be purchased online for the day you plan to attend. The event may sell out, so get your tickets early!
You can purchase tickets for our Fall Festival, Pumpkin Patch, and Corn Maze here.
Make sure to plan for the local weather! A lot can change in the 30 miles between Austin and Bastrop. You’ll want to bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for bright days. A light jacket is also recommended during the cooler months, as it can get breezy on the banks of the river.
Guests may bring one sealed bottle of water to the farm with them, as well as snacks or a picnic lunch. Coolers or cooler bags are not allowed on the farm. Items that require refrigeration may be left in a cooler in the car until it’s time to eat. And since we are permitted by the TABC to sell beer and wine, we can’t allow any outside alcohol on the property.
These items are all permitted on the farm. Please note that they may be subject to inspection by a uniformed law enforcement officer.
Parking is free on the farm!
It gets very dry out here, so one cigarette butt could cause a major fire. And we’ve seen enough of that out here in Bastrop. So we ask that our guests refrain from smoking or vaping on the Barton Hill Farms property. This includes the parking lot!
To keep everyone safe, we’ve implemented preventative measures based on CDC guidelines. Steps include:
- Cashless operations
- Daily health checks for staff
- Frequent sanitation of high touch points
- Masks are worn when 6 ft of space is not reasonable.
