Bastrop, TX – July 1, 2012 – With no UFO sightings reported in Central Texas this year, it remains a mystery as to how an extraterrestrial-like design has take shape in a Central Texas cornfield. Bringing the maze craze to the heart of the Lone Star state, Barton Hill Farms will unravel the mystery when they open the area’s first MAiZE, an intricate network of twists and turns carved into 5 acres of corn, on September 22nd.
Come get lost with Barton Hill Farms at the first annual Fall Festival & Corn Maze! Set amongst hundred-year-old cottonwoods on the banks of the Colorado River between Austin and Bastrop, Barton Hill Farms integrates Texas heritage, traditional fall fun, and live Texas Country music to create an experience the whole family can enjoy. The festivities kick off on Saturday, September 22nd and continue every weekend through Sunday, November 18th.
The annual festival features a 5-acre corn maze (created in conjunction with The Maize Inc.), stage acts, and live music from up-and-coming Texas Country artists, offering a little something for everyone. Moms and dads can kick back with a brew, while the little ones explore The Lively, a 50 foot pirate ship wrecked on the banks of the river, play frontier games in a replica of the ol’ Wilbarger fort, and pick pumpkins from the pumpkin patch.

About The MAiZE
Designed by Barton Hill Farms and Brett Herbst, the world’s leading designer of over 1,500 corn mazes worldwide, the maze is a unique source of good family fun, challenging the wits of adults and children alike. Though the correct pathway can be walked in roughly fifteen minutes, most maze-goers will require about an hour to wind their way through three miles of twist, turns, and decision points. A series of “passports” will be made available, each containing ten quiz questions, and if answered correctly, maze-goers will receive clues to guide them along the correct path to the exit. The MAiZE represents the newest trend in outdoor entertainment and provides a fun way for Central Texas families and friends to kick back, relax, and celebrate the season.
